Seo Linn are a bilingual contemporary folk group with Irish trad influences.


Their journey began in west Galway, in the Conamara Gaeltacht, where the four friends lived and worked for many years. From pub sessions and Irish language viral videos to writing and recording their own material and touring the world, it’s a journey that certainly caught them by surprise.

In 2013, after garnering a solid following from a string of viral online videos, Seo Linn began gigging and touring around Ireland. They spent the next few years taking on various projects from writing and recording songs and videos for Self Help Africa to the Euro 2016 campaign culminating in performances in huge shows in Croke Park, the Aviva, the 3Arena and the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre. They released their debut album ‘Solas’ on the back of all this work in 2017 which went on to win ‘Album of the Year’ at the ‘Nós Music Awards’.

The international touring scene beckoned for Seo Linn after that. Headlining festivals in Italy, Australia and across the U.S., Seo Linn began to rapidly widen their fanbase. Their reputation as an energetic and quality headlining act preceded them as they consistently proved their mettle on the big stage while going from festival to festival. This period resulted in the release of Seo Linn’s second body of work; an E.P. entitled Marcas sa gCoill/Marcus in the Wood containing fan favourites ‘Buy Me Time’ and ‘Soilsiú an Lae’.

2020 saw Seo Linn’s tour of Australia cut short due to the pandemic crisis. All was not lost however as the focus shifted to upskilling, home studios and remote creativity. Online shows and livestreams opened up a whole new audience and was reinvigorating for the band. In 2021 work began on their next album, Anuas - a collection of old traditional Irish songs that have been reworked in Seo Linn’s style. Their single ‘Siúil a Rún’ was released shortly after that to wide acclaim, with the full album release and subsequent tour kicking off in February 2023.

Seo Linn are kicking off 2025 with a US March tour where they’ll be playing in the middle of Times Square on St Patrick’s Day. They are currently in the process of recording their third album with new music to be heard at their upcoming shows.
